The purpose of the Rich
ard Goolsby Scholarship
Fund is to provide college
scholarships to students
who have shown a career
interest or demonstrated
practical experience in the
plastics industry.
Eligibility: Applicants must
be full-time students at ei
ther a four-year college or
two-year technical pro
gram. Applicants must
have completed one year
of study at either type of
institution. Applicants must
be graduates of public or
private high schools. Pref
erence will be given to stu
dents living in the geo
graphical area served by
the Carolinas Section of
Plastics Engineers (central
and western North Caro
lina and all of South Caro
lina.)
Applicant must have dem
onstrated or expressed in
terest in the plastics indus
try. Applicant must be ma
joring or taking courses that
would be beneficial to a
career in the plastics in
dustry. This could include
but is not limited to chemis
try, physics, chemical engi
neering, mechanical engi
neering, industrial engi
neering, and business ad
ministration. Applicant must
be in good academic stand
ing with his or her college.

1997-98 John L. Carey
Scholarships. Available
through financial aid for stu
dents who wish to pursue a
CPA certificate. Based on
academic achievement,

awards up to $5000. Dead

Waynesville Scholarship

Scholarship is now avail
