"The Mind/Body Problem Solved(?)” will be the topic discussed (if not solved) by Dr. Anthony Coyne, assistant professor of philosophy, at the next Philosophy Forum on Tues day, Nov. 6. His talk will be at 3:30 in Room 131 of the Humanities Building. Dr. Coyne will draw on some themes from Hegelian epistemology to show that everything you ever thought about the mind-body relationship (but were afraid to ask) is true except that your mind has anything to do with your body. HEAR, YE POETS! Got a poem buried in a pile of paper? Have one burning to be born? If you can write it, you may be able to have it published by your helpful Department of Literature and Languages. Nelljean McConeghey, lecturer in literature, is seeking literary contribu tions for a UNC-A poetry journal. Those inspired to do so should send their creations to her at the Depart ment no later than Nov. 15. Name and address of the author should be in cluded on each poem, especially if the material is wanted back. Also a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Submissions will be returned within a month. Payment for publication will be a copy of the magazine. MUSICAL BARGAIN UNC-A students can hear the top- notch North Carolina Symphony, with flutist Martha Aarons as soloist in the Mozart Concerto No. 1 in G Maj. for flute and orchestra, in a concert at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium of the Asheville Civic Center Wednesday, Nov. 14. The Student Activities Fund makes it possible for students to hear this and other concerts for a bargain price. This one, beginning at 8 p.m., is $2 for students. Faculty and staff may buy any tickets left after 3 p.m., Nov. 14, at a discount. The program will include the Bartok "Dance Suite" and the Schumann Symphony No. 2 in C. Maj. Miss Aarons is principal flutist with the N.C. Symphony, and has been with the orchestra four years. She is a winner of the Cleveland Orchestra concerto competition and has played in several music festivals in the United States. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music. GREEN SPEAKS TO CLUBS Men's basketball coach jerry Green is talking up his new Bulldogs and fin ding fresh interest in the team among Bulldog Boosters. Green has been speaking to civic clubs and others around the UNC-A community. He will talk to the West Asheville Kiwanis Club at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Hallmark Cafeteria at Westgate Shopping Mall. 3 SPRING REGISTRATION All students currently registered must sign up for Spring courses November 26-30. This will be THE registration for the Spring. Those who fail to register at this time will be able to select courses only after all new freshmen and transfers have had their choice of courses. Payment of tuition and fees will be due on January 4. Failure to pay by that date will mean that one's schedule will be cancelled. One must then show up in person to register on January 11, 1980. OLD VS. NEW The annual Alumni Game for Old Bulldogs versus the new pups is set for 6 p.m. in the gym on Friday, Nov. 16, says men's basketball coach Jerry Green. The present Bulldogs will give some exercise to 10 or 11 former members of the team, ranging in age up to about 31. At 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, the Bulldogs will play an exhibition game for the Erwin High School Boosters at Erwin High.
