Brevard Still Undefeated The Brevard College Blue anc White Tornado remains one of the two undefeated teams in the junior college conference after winning from Boiling Springs here last Saturday by a score of 26-6. The Jamesmen accounted for their first six points early in the first quarter when Thompson carried the ball over the south goal, a substan tial gain from mid-field. The con version of one point was good on a completed pass—W. Clayton from his brother Ed. In the second period Boiling Springs made a long gain from mid field, when Price completed a long pass which he took to the three yard line. Green carried the bal over on the third ^plsy ty scrim mage. The extra point failed, anc they did not threaten the Brevarc goal again during the entire game. The Tornado scored again in the second period when Davis tossed Gaston a pass that was good for fif teen yards as well as six points. The attempt for the point failed. Neither team threatened in the third period; Boiling Springs, how ever, continued to use an effective passing attack. Brevard came back powerfully in the final quarter, scoring two touchdowns. Both of these were scored by Thompson, who played the outstanding game of the Brevard backs. On the third Brevard touchdown Ed Clayton made the point at scrimmage. Throughout the game Boiling Springs used a very effective and complicated passing attack- The Brevard team displayed a great of fense power. Jamesmen Are to Battle Lees-McRae Tomorrow The Tornado will leave early to morrow morning for Banner Elk where they will meet Lees-McRae in perhaps the outstanding junior college game of the week-end, at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. This will be the eighth Tornado game of the season and perhaps one of the hardest. So far the James men have rolled up more than 150 points to their opponents’ 15. Lail, perhaps the most consistent player on the squad, has been out of scrimmage all week with a neck in jury and very likely will not see ac tion, Brooks is still on crutches and will not make the trip. The squad has had only two scrim mage periods during the week, be cause of bad weather on Monday and Tuesday. Coach James held skull practice Tuesday, at which Dr. Smart to Visit Us Dr. W. A. Smart, Professor of Biblical Theology in the Candler School of Theology of Emory Uni versity, will visit us from tomorrow until Monday. He is one of the ablest men in the Methodist Church. He will speak four times while in Brevard. On Sunday he wili preach in the Methodist church at 11 A. M. and 7:30 P. M. He will speak in the college auditorium Sunday af ternoon at five o’clock, instead of the six o’clock vespers, and again at the chapel period on Monday. Dr. Smart will meet as many students in personal conferences as possible Monday morning. It is a rare privilege to have such a man as Dr. Smart with us; and every student should hear him, and if possible talk with him. Christmas Holidays to Begin December 19th At a meeting of the faculty Thursday, November 14th, it was decided that the Christmas holidays will begin December 19th. The first quarter will close on that day. As yet it is undecided when the first quarter examinations will be gin. It is possible that they will start December 16th.
