North Carolina, rriaay, --- Answers To Questions Page 4 Brevard Wins Great V ictory Brevard College tornadoed the Ashe ville School for Boys by breaking their winning streak of nine games with a victory of 33-31 on the Asheville court Wednesday afternoon. The Tornadoes wei^ holding a 6-0 lead a few minutes after the starting of the game, but by the end of the first quarter the Asheville boys had overcome the lead. The score went from one team to the other until at the half Asheville was leading 20-18. Asheville held the lead most of the second half, with Brevard in easy striking distance. In the last of the game the playing got faster and rougher as both teams tried to get a suitable lead. The end of the game was near and the score was tied when a brilliant shot by Patton put Brevard a- head to win the game 33-31. The brilliant shooting by Patton, Ard- rey, and Rogers featured the offensive for Brevard, while Seelbach and Taylor were in the limelight for Asheville. Rog ers scored 11 points and Patton scoreu 10. Taylor had 12 points, with his running mate Seelbach only two points behind. Ardrey’s brilliant defense a- gainst Seelbach was the best he has played this year. Davis and Whitesides held their men down to their lowest scores of the year. This loss was the first in 9 games for Asheville this season. They have lost only 5 games in the last four years. This victory puts Brevard above Mars Hill, since they have been beaten twice by Asheville this year. This was the sixth game out of ten that Brevard has won. The game started rough and ready with the Textile team grabbing the lead and holding it until the last minutes of the regular playing time. At the half they were leading 10-6. but at the end of the regular time the teams were tied 24- 24. This called for an extra period, and it ended with the score 27-27. Again an extra period was played. This period was faster than the rest of the game, and th'^ Brevard team gained the lead for the first time and held it until the final whistle ended the fray with the score 3^- 28. Posy of Textile was the high scorer with 10 points, followed by Rogers who had 8. Each man on the Brevard team scored at least 5 points to keep his aver I age high. Ardrey was the only Brevard I player to foul out. while Textile had three men on the bench because of fouls. There were thirty-five fouls made by both team3 during the six periods.
