Brevard Makes I Tornadoes Drop Two
Come-back
The Brevard Blue and Whites came
into the winning column Wednesday
night by breezing through the game
with Presbyterian Junior College 58-
24.
The Brevard boys took the lead in
the opening minutes of play and kept
out in front the whole game. The
first half was full of crip shots by the
entire team and ended with the score
26-6. In the second half they continu
ed their onslaught upon the basket to
score 22 more while their opponents
were scoring 18.
The game was filled with fouls, but
it did not mar the playing of the home
team. They broke faster and shot
straighter than at any other time dur
ing the year to score their largest
number of points. Wright was high
scorer of the night, with 20 points;
Patton had 14 points, and Davis had
11. Rogers played a brilliant floor
game, with Whitesides coming in on
the praise. Car? of P.J.C. scored 6
points and was high scorer for them,
with Captain Wilson playing a . great
guarding game.

On a trip to th-- eastern part of the
state last Thursday and Friday the
Brevard basketball team dropped two
games by losing to Wofford Freshmen
24-21 and to Textile Junior College 35
to 31.
In the Wofford game, which was
played Friday, the Brevard team led
the scoring until the last three minutes
of play, when the Wofford boys staged
a rally that the Tornadoes were unable
to halt- The Brevard Blue and Whites
were not playing their usual fine game
of ball and could not get their sights
trained on the basket. .
Patton was high scorer for Brevard,
with 7 points to his credit. The game
was featured by the last minute rally
of Wofford.
In.the game Saturday night with
Teixtile Junior College the Tornadoes
were again leading at the end of the
third quarter, but their opponents re
peated the act of the night before by
staging a rally in the closing minutes.
This game was much faster th^iti the
game with Wofford and was "filled
with long thrilliiig shots. The g^ame
ended with Textile leading 35-31.
