We hope that many old friendships will be renewed, and that everyone will have a good time which he won’t soon for get. Homecoming is an annual event that brings former studentsi back to the campus from far and near. Many of them come to see old friends and to renew memories of past college days. The theme in most of the conversations which we hear is “Remember when ...” For you oldtimers, a Homecoming program full of a great deal of entertainment has been planned. A recep tion, a ball game, and a dance will be the main events in •a day of fond reminiscing. It is urged that all former ^dents attend these social functions, for nowhere better ^an here will you have a chance of seeing again all your old classmates and friends. Of course, you will want to meet the new students an,d faculty members, too. Remember that you have made Brevard college what it is. You have the credit for all she has done in the past, and you will be a part of all that she does in the years tb come. The staff of the Clarion would like to extend a spe cial welcome to all visiting friends, as well as graduates jiTid former students. We hope that you will have a pleasant and memorable Homecoming week end at your Alma Mater. All Alumni Are Invited To Come ■ ; To Big Dance Immediately following the Bre- vard'Mars Hill football game to morrow night, there will be a dance in ttie gym. This event is being sponsored by the Women’s Athletic association of the Mono gram club, and will climax the Hoinecomi^ day. Ravon Smith and his dance band will furnish music that no one will want to miss. Since Hallo- wee^n is right around the corner, appropriate colors and decorations will be used to make the gym jsiore suitable to the season. Don’t stay away from the dance with the simple excuse that you don’t know the steps—many of the TCtumed alumni will be there and it can be a social time as well as a diicing time for all who at- ijend. Boys, give the girls a large thrill and ask them for dates to to t^ game and to the dance afterwards. And girls, if you are not strong enough to.xirag a boy over to the gym, just come on any way because there are always st^ roaming arOund; you can jearly latch onto one of them. Be dsides, it -is not every Saturday night ihat you get to stay out un- ^jaidnlght! ■S;cveiypjje pooperate, 1949-50 Pertelote (Continued From Page One) will again handle both individual and group pictures. “We urge everyone to cooperate completely in getting their pictures taken this year,” Editor Cook stated. A list giving names and times for individual shots will be posted on the bulletin board in the near fu ture. Pine Whispers Your snooping reporter is back on the job, so we wiU proceed without further ado.’ Bob Hunt has found his match as a dancing partner in Helen Hayes. Quite a twirl they’re making. Tad is really staying true to Barbara. That is her name, isn’t it. Tad? We might say ditto in the cases of Jim Barker, Tommy Higgins and several others. Mary Frances and Raymond make a hard looking couple. Wonder if “Snookie” and Jane had a good time in Charlotte last week end? Howard Graham’s competition isn’t one to give him serious trou ble. Jean’s only other attach ment seems to be her books. Who was that with Eloise the other night? Could it have been Bob -H., better known as “Mag gie”? Just keep on trying, Max, my boy; maybe Dot will see it your way yet. Sarah "B., you looked happy on Sunday night. Was it because “the one” was up to see you? We’ll probably see as much of “Hoot” Gibson 'this semester as we did when he was a student last year. We think that Kat is a good enough reason, too. “Marty” Gibbs certainly has company from Asheville often. It’s not her best girl friend either. Whew! That was some kind of time last week, wasn’t it, Liz- ette? We see Mac Corkle with dif ferent girls at different times, but it’s really Frances M., isn’t it. Mac? It seejns that Hall Smith has found an interest in West Hall. Emma, maybe? Marion Cook and Ann Deas have recently been seen at the movies together. Are you two getting up a case? Whom do you think we saw walking around the campus hold ing hands the other day—none other than Dottie Gay and Ray. Anne Haley has a mad crush on a tall, brown-eyed boy with a crew cut whose name she does not disclose at this time. Barbara and Dot, we saw you and two real good-looking fellows at the ball game the other night, but what has happened to them since then? Don’t y’all think that Bette and Jim make a darling couple? You never see them when they aren’t laughing. Enough dirt for this time, don’t you think? Many Activities (Continued From Page One) said yesterday. “They are an in tegral part of our alunuii group, and I feel that they will enjoy meeting old -friends and former classmates at this annual observ ance,” Swink continued. The college band, cheerleaders and students will lead a parade through town prior to the kick- off of the football game. Co-Ed THEATRE Sunday and Monday October 30-31 “I Was A Male War Bride” Tues. and Wed. November 1-2 “Under Capricorn’ Thursday and Friday November 3-4 “The House Across The Street” dance can be Brevard’s best Homecoming event.
