PAGE FOXJR CLUB CAPERS the clarion April 26,195, BY CHARLES HILBERS May Dance The Veterans Club has import ed Tommy Taylor’s Eastlake Coun try Club five piece orchestra to play for the May Day dance they are sponsoring Saturday night, May 4th. Plans were laid to have the dance in the new cafeteria, but be cause of construction setbacks the new building is not far enough along to have the dance there. In stead the dance will be held in the Gym. The members of the Veter ans’ Club have given a Saturday af ternoon during which they will work for the J. A. Jones Construc tion Company in order to finance the dance, which is an annual af fair. At their last dinner meeting about two weeks ago, committees were appointed to make plans for the coming dance. Don Oglesby is chairman of the decorations com mittee, the members of this committee can be seen scurrying around campus busily preparing for the dance. Jerry Stamey is chairman of the refreshment com mittee. Kappa Cbi The club members received their pins this week, an event that has long been awaited by them. This Saturday at 2:00 the club will leave for a retreat at Pisgah Inn in Pis- gah Forest. Science Fair Friday night, April 19th, the phy sics and math departments, the Al pha Beta Gamma, and the EMA Club co-sponsored the Science Fair. It was estimated that about 150 people, Brevard College stu dents and faculty and visitors, at tended the show which, in the opin ion of Miss Bobbie Jean Nichelson, sponsor of Alpha Beta Gamma, was a huge success. All those who at tended and filled out survey cards, wrote that they had enjoyed the show and would like to see it held as an annual affair. There was also a good bit of constructive criticism which was appreciated by the spon sors of the Fair. It seemed to be the general opinion that this crit icism indicated the visitors thought enough of the show to contribute their ideas to make the Fair an even better one next year.
