The intramural football season came to a close
with the third floor Green “Tarheels” winning the
championship. They had a 5-0 regular season record
and a 8-0 oveiall record. In second place were the
“Cellar-Dwellers” with a 4-1 season record and a
6-2 overall record.
Green Hall defeated the Taylor Hall team by
a score of 41-0 in the All-Star game. Although the
Taylor boys were out-matched, they played a very
hard game.
Forte, Raper, and Tanner were outstanding of
fensive players for the Green All-Stars, while Noell,
Buell, and Hampton played a good defensive game.
Outstanding players from Taylor were Grayeline,
Werling, and Brady. These boys did a fine job as
they were outclassed by Green.
Individual trophies will be given to “Nat” Noell
for most ;points scored in the season. He averaged 9
points per game. Zan Fisher is the recipient of the
sportsmanship award. The Dean Roberts’ Cup will be
awarded to Green Hall for winning the All-Star game.
Basketball season has begun in high spirits at
Brevard. The Tornadoes have played six games thus
far. After a slow start, the team has begun to show
excellent results of their long hours of practice.
