doors for the 1968 fall semes
ter to 642 students this past
week end to begin its thirty-
second year of instruction as a
two-year college institution.
Faculty members and stud
ent leaders were the first to
arrive on the Brevard College
campus last week. The instruc
tors reported for work Monday
morning and the students came
Tuesday. They spent the next
few days in an effort to ready
the dorms and buildings for
the college’s 383 freshmen, who
arrived Thursday.
New faculty members were
introduced to college policies
and procedures in an orienta
tion meeting with Dean Grady
H. Whicker, Monday morning.
The bewildered, but excited
freshmen started arriving early
Thursday morning. The largest
freshman class in the hi&tory
of the school continued to con

early evening hours. The 1968
freshman class represents 15

A movie, “When Comedy Was
King” followed Mr. Miles’ talk.
Friday proved to 'be a day of
more confusion than work for
the freshmen as they were split
into three alphaibetical groups
and were tested on physical fit

academic courses, and instru«t-
ed in the advantages of the-
school’s music department.
Freshmen assembled in Dun

Students were dismissed to
go to the homes or other des

previously assigned faculty ad

The freshmen preregistered
Saturday morning with their
faculty advisors. General regis
