Mac F ramp ton
Visits Brevard

Mac Frampton, a pianist, com
poser, arranger, and performer,
is scheduled to appear on March
2, at 8:15 p.m. in Boshamer gym
nasium as part of the Life and
Culture Series.
Frampton’s music is classical
along with a touch of jazz and
rock.
Frampton stuaied music at Er-
skine College and the Cincinnati
Conservatory. His first musical
accomplishment came in 1%9
when he received a bronze medal
in the Van Cliburn International
Piano Competition.
In the past few years, Framp
ton and his group have given
almost 600 concerts in the United
States, Canada, and the Near
East. His concert at Brevard
should prove to be an enjoyable
and entertaining experience for
all who attend.
Dr. Harold C. Warlick
Oratorio Chorus to
Perform March 28

' The Oratorio Chorus, under the
direction of Professor Harvey
Miller, will present a program of
sacred music on Sunday, March
28, at 4:00 p.m. in the First United
Methodist Church. The program
is part of the Life and Culture
Series.
The music presented will be
from a variety of periods. The
Romantic Period will be
represented by Schubert’s Mass
Pete Conroy
in G Major No. 2 and
Mendelssohn’s “Heilig,” which
will be sung in German. An an
them from the Baroque Period,
“May Thy Hand be
Strengthened,” by Handel, will
also be performed. The college
students in the chorus will sing
some short Renaissance pieces
and southern folk hymns. Soloists
on the program will be Sarah
Seawell, Wayne Bishop, and
Edgar Evans.
Birds of Prey
A special wildlife lecture on
“Birds of Prey” will be presented
by Mr. Pete Conroy at Brevard
College on Wednesday, March
3 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in
the Dunham Auditorium.
Conroy, director of the Raptor
Institute at Furman University
and President of the Greenville
Audubon Society, is a very active
guest lecturer in the North and
South Carolina area. His public

Christian Encounter Week —
A Time for Spiritual Growth

Christian Encounter Week,
March 7-11, will be an exciting
week of spiritual growtn,
renewal, and committment for
B.C. students. The theme for the
week will be “Finding Hope In A
Fatalistic Age.” Dr. Harold C.
Warlick, Jr., Director of
Ministerial Studies at Harvard
University Divinity School, will
be the guest speaker.
Among the activities planned is
a series of four lectures which
will be presented by Dr. Warlick.
Two of the lectures may be
counted toward credit for
Humanities 101-102. The lectures
are a part of the Thomas F.
Staley Distinguished Christian
Scholar Lecture Program, which
is designed to strengthen the
small Christian college. The
schedule for the Staley lectures,
all of which will be presented in
Dunham Auditorium, is as
follows:

in Di. Warlick’s honor on Sunday
in the private dining room, a
reception after Dr. Warlick’s lec
ture on ounday at which the Big
Sisters will serve, and special
music before the first lecture.
WFBC-TV in Greenville are
shown daily in a four-state view
ing audience.
Conroy will be presenting a
short slide program, models,
demonstrations, and several live
birds of prey (injured birds
undergoing rehabilitation) as
part of this general introductory
lecture.
This special wildlife lecture is
free and the public is cordially in

Mr. Pete Conroy will present a special lecture on
“Birds of Prey”, tomorrow, March 3, in Dunham
Auditorium.
Also, Dr. Warlick will attend Dr.
Roy’s sociology class on Monday
morning at 8:00 a.m.
Dr. Warlick earned a B.A.
degree from Furman University,
a S.T.B. degree from Harvard
University Divinity School, and
his D.Min. degree from Vander
bilt University Divinity School. In
1975, he received a counseling
certificate from the University of
Miami School of Medicine. Dr.
Warlick has served as Senior
Minister of the Seventh and
James Baptist Church in Waco,
Texas, and as pastor of Trinity
Baptist Church in Seneca, South
Carolina. The four books he has
written are titled Liberation
From Guilt, Sketches of Creative
Living: Sermons Which Tell a
Story, Conquering Loneliness,
and Sermons for Easter.
PTK
Chosen

PTK has been chosen as
Secretary of the Southern
Region. Thus, Brevard will host
the leadership conference for the
Southern District next year. This
is quite and honor for the Brevard
chapter.
Also, PTK had new member in
ductions for this semester. In
order to be tapped for member
ship, students must be of good
moral character and possess
recognized qualities of citizen
ship as judged by the faculty.
