In the fourth quarter, the Tornadoes Itept in close range but never seemed to overcome Reinhardt. With 11 seconds left, Kim Sowell scored on an outside shot to close the gap to only 4 points but BC couldn’t get the points they needed. BC’s Shelley Ivey racked up 16 points and Satina Waites was close behind with 14 points. The Lady Tornadoes have a record of 1-5 with the first conference game set for Dec. 15 away against North Greenville. Morristown defeated the Lady Tor nadoes by a score of 78-64 Monday, Nov. 30. Playing on the road, BC shot well from the outside but the free throws and inside shots just wouldn’t connect. The Tornadoes had 18 missed free throws while high scorer Allison Stocks with 20 points sank 5 three-pointers. Lady Tornadoes came from behind to get within three points of Peace College but it wasn’t enough to keep control and BC was defeated 61-51 on Nov. 20. “The team did a great job of coming back but we have a habit of getting behind early,” says Coach Jane Long. The second game of the season consisted of the matchup between Truett-McConnell and Brevard College on Nov. 16. Nationally-ranked T-M led every quarter and widened the gap further each quarter. The final outcome left BC in the dust with 37 points while Truett racked up 71. On Nov. 1, Brevard College went up against Louisburg. The final outcome left Brevard behind by 19 to leave a final score of 74-55.
