Terrie Jennewine, you’ve met your
match!
Dino Locklear, also known as “Patti
Melt,” was crowned winner of the first an
nual Mr. Brevard College Pageant held
Sunday evening, February 5 in Dunham
Auditorium.
After modeling a gorgeous black and
white strapless dress and a sexy swimsuit,
Dino’s smile captured the hearts of the
judges. For the talent competition,
Locklear performed a fast-paced, comical
aerobic dance that kept the audience
laughing nonstop.
Runners-up were as follows: 3rd-Patrick
Boggen (“Anita Man”), 2nd-Aaron Kerr
(“Elizabeth All-Night-Long”), and 1st
Doug Webb (“Mary B. Hairy”), who was
also the recipient of the “Mr. Smiley”
award.
Among the other contestants were; John
Daniels (“April Mae"), Russ Bayne
("Candi Dish"), Edward Jones ("Ima
Tease"I, Rick Redmond (“Matilda All-
Wishes Bodine"), and Robin Wicker
("Amazon Amanda”).
Kim Penland, who advised and supervis
ed the pageant, said, “I hope that the
pageant was viewed as a comic relief
rather than a mocking of the Miss BC
Pageant.
“Our sole purpose was to have fun. I
think it was very successful and I hope we
can make it a tradition in the years to
come.” said Penland.
Mr. BC, being the latest addition to the
school’s social board, was the brainstorm
of several students, namely Robin Wicker.
Judges included seven of the contestants
who competed in the Miss BC Pageant
January 28. They were: Michelle Atkin
son, Terrie Jennewine (who crowned the
winner with a classical Burger King crown
and gave her/him a bouquet of hand-
picked weeds), Pamela Carter, Lora
Woodrum, Catherine McKee, Charlotte
Safrit, Rachel Klein, and Andrea Henry.
“It was nice to sit back, relax, and have
a good time watching everyone experience
the excitement I had last week as a contes
tant of Miss BC. Mr. BC relieved me of a
lot of the stress I felt as a contestant,” said
Pam Carter. Mistresses of ceremonies
were Mylene Thomas & Lorrie Diaz.
The Mr BC Pageant was put together in
only two days under the direction of Jen
nifer Wells. “I just hope everyone got a
kick out of seeing our BC men modeling
women’s evening gowns and swimsuits,”
said Jennifer.
