News Bureau Brevard College will have three athletes competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championship. March 3 and 4 in Lawrence, Kansas, at the University of Kansas. The school record holder in the high jump at 6’10” is Dan Watson, a freshman from Greenwood, S.C. Dan has developed excellent consistency over the past 6 weeks. Seven feet is a mat ter of time and getting his steps down. If he can clear 6’10” on his first jump he can make All-American. To win he’ll have to jump a personnal best of TV' or 7’2”, “says Coach Dave Rinker. The Brevard’s usual strong suit of distance running will be sophomores Geoff Moore and Scott Dvorak. Geoff, from Vidalia, Ga., will be running the 2 mile. “It will take a great race from Geoff for him to earn All-American honors. His best bet is that a fast pace is set by someone else. This would allow him to hang in there and make a move later in the race,” Rinker observes. Scott, from Orange Park, Fla., will run the 1000 meters. Scott must run the semifinals in the 1000 on Friday nught. “He’ll be hard pressed to make the finals. He has the ability, but needs a good fast pace and to hang in there. If he makes the finals he can make All-American,” says Rinker. To make All-American an athlete must place in the top six in the event.
