If so, maybe you should enjoy what you do by joining the BC cheerleading squad. Sponsored by Amanda Battle, the squad is led by Dino Locklear on a purely volunteer basis. Tryouts are already underway, and six people will represent BC's spirit when the final team is announced on March 19. Locklear says, "We have 10 girls and two guys trying out so far, but we'll limit it to the best six whether they are male or female." The candidates have been working out in the weight room and practicing cheers four times a week. "We may be kind of rough at first," Locklear added, "but we will be on top by next fall." The squad will cheer mostly at BC basketball and soccer games, and will also visit area high schools and nursing homes. Anyone interested in trying out should see Amanda Battle or Dino Locklear before March 9.
