BC Campus News Briefs
JAZZ BAND LUNCHEON CONCERT
Lunch will be served outside on the lawn at Coltrane Commons on
Wed., Oct. 3, with live music by the EC's regionally acclaimed Jazz Band,
Directed by Steve Kelly.
The luncheon will be held during the usual hours of 11:30 a.m.-l p.m.
It will be moved to the Auxiliary Gym in case of inclement weather.
The picnic is being scheduled to accomodate the Community
Convocation on Literacy in the A.G. Myers Dining Hall during the same
hours.

PARENTS' WEEKEND PLANNED FOR NOV, 2-4
The Student Government Association of Brevard College, in
cooperation with the faculty and administration, is sponsoring Parents
Weekend on campus, November 2,3, and 4. The parents, families and friends
of Brevard College students are invited to attend.
The weekend begins on Friday, allowing parents to attend classes
along with their son or daughter.
Major attractions for the week include performances by the Collegiate
Singers, a trumpet and french horn recital; athletic contests featuring Brevard
intercollegiate teams in regional tournaments; coffee and conversation with
President Greer, other college administrators: and members of the faculty; a
special College Worship Service with remarks by Dr. Charles ZimmennM:
and the student presentation of A Company of Wayward Saints, directed by
Professor Sam Cope. Because theatrical productions are always
sold out, reservations are mandatory. . . n
All seats will be reserved. Students are admitted without charge, but al
other seats are $3.
SNACK BAR SCANNING CARDS LONGER
The Snack Bar at Coltrane Commons is now scanning meal cards from
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m.
WHO'S WHO LIST ANNOUNCED
This year's Who’s Who list for Brevard College has been

Kellie Tagtmeyer, and Beth Woods.
These students will be listed in this year's edition of Who's Who
Among American Junior Colleges.
LEARNING ASSISTANCE SCHEDULE
The following schedules have been etablished to assist students with
problems in respective areas. Assistants (either qualified students or faculty
members will be available during the hours listed. Scheduling questions
may be directed to the person listed fo reach area.
COMPUTER SCIENCE LAB
The Computer Science Lab is available in MG 219. The Director is
Michelle Choate, Director of Microcomputing. Hours are as follows:
Sun. 1:30-10 p.m.
Mon. 9-10 a.m. & 4:30-10 p.m.
Tues. 9-10 a.m., 1-2:30 p.m. & 4:30-10 p.m.

LEARNING CENTER
The Learning Center is located in MG 203. Rita Colbert is the Acting
Director of the Learning Center. Tutoring schedules are posted on the door.
The Learning Center provides assistance and referral for any subject

The Math Lab is located in MS 102. Dr Jeff Llewellyn, Chairman of
the Mathematics and Natural Science Division, is the contact person.
