There are many great events
that are coming to the region in the next
few weeks. In Charlotte, the Block
buster Pavilion is finishing up its sum
mer run of shows with a flurry of head-
line-making bands. For Country mu
sic enthusiasts, Tim McGraw will play
on Friday, September 26. Live will
play with Luscious Jackson on Thurs
day, October 2, and Fleetwood Mac
will close out the Pavilion on Friday,
November 14. For tickets to any of

show is Rolling Stones, and Blues
Traveler, October 14 at Ericsson Sta
dium in Charlotte, NC. For tickets, call

who will play at the Grady Cole Cen
ter on October 1. Tickets are $ 15. John
Fogerty will be at the Ovens Audito
rium on the 28'*' of September, in Char-

ing up at the Ritz, which is located on
Industrial Drive in Raleigh. On Satur
day, September 27 at 9:00 PM

In Winston-Salem, the Indigo
Girls will play at Wait Chapel at WFU
on Mon, Oct 20 at 8:00 PM. Ziggy
Marley & the Melody Makers will
play Wed, Oct 1 at Ziggys in downtown
Winston-Salem, and Elton John will
play at the LJVM Coliseum on Fri, Oct
10 at 8:00 PM.
A little closer to this area, is
the Black Mountain Music Festival,
October 17-19 at Camp Ton-A-
Wandah in Flat Rock. The Festival is
celebrating its 15'*' year of music, dance,
workshops, and crafts. Musical Guests
include Bruce Hornsby, Tony Rice,
Peter Rowan, Ramblin' Jack Elliot,
FreshFish, and many, many more. For

Smokey Mountain Jam 97, on Satur
day, September 27 from 3-11 PM at the
World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, TN.
Featured are two stages of music with
Widespread Panic, Violent Femmes,
Gran Torino, Sister Hazel, Col.
Bruce Hampton, Hector Quirko
Band, and the V-Roys. Tickets are on
