Well, you shouldn’t be. Curt Crowhurst and his crew at Twister Produc tions have much in store for upcoming weeks at B C. Many activities have been lined up to appeal to everyone. In fact, usually numerous activities are planned for each day. As for this reporter, I am new here on campus, so I can not as of yet share my personal insight on the success of these events, but some of the students I have spoken with definitely can. Sophomore Charlotte Courtney boasts that Twister Productions “gives students entertainment that the town lacks.” Former president of Twister Wendy Byerly adds that Twister, “is the social key here on campus,” and newcomer Jessie Scott declares that the activities are among “the best things going here on campus.” If you think Twister sounds great, you’re not alone. As for me, I will check out some of these events, and I look forward to seeing you there too. GETTING IN TOUCH WITH OUR ROOTS Aimee Salzer Everyday is Earth Day, but off course it’s fim to set a few days aside to really give our environment some attention. The plans for B C Earth Day 1999 are already underway! The Earth Day organizers have come up with some creative ideas to really get the community involved. The earth’s children are its future, so the Team would like to have children involved in our celebration. Ideas include a fashion show of thrift store clothes (to show it is better to reuse), a bike parade where the kids can sport their wheels (foot power is way better than fossil fuels) and lots of environmental games that involve taking a look at nature. Do you have a secret desire to take trash and turn it into a masterpiece? Now’s your chance! We hope to have all of our Van Gogh’s and Picasso s help to build sculptures from our everyday trash. Everyone can join in on the celebration, and after the daytime festivities the campus will celebrate Earth Night with dancing, a bonfire, music, and generally wild times. The entire week will center on activism. Some questions to be answered will include “how to write an environ mental grant” and “how to form a grassroots organizations. Day organizers have been working hard to think up some great ideas, but there’s always room for more. If you want to get in on a great time that is also good for the planet, get in touch with Linda Helms on ext. 8275 or stop by and see her in Coltrane Commons.
