The Clarion Brevard CoUegt April 1, 2004 Editorials Editor’s Letter By Heather Ochse, editor The time has come to give the viewer’s another letter from the editor. A couple of items to mention in this letter will be extended in articles in this edition. First, let me bring up the yearbook. The Pertelote may not be coming out this school year. Why? One of the reasons is due to lack of students signing up to take the course. The same could be said for the Clarion, which will be coining out with future editions if we have anything to say about it. I may not be here next year, but the Clarion as well as the Pertelote wiU have student involvement next fall, and for years to come. Lack of student participation, in this case the yearbook, leads to not having a yearbook committee. In order to form a committee students have to sign up for the course at registration. It is like any other class on campus. The idea for the yearbook this year was to have it on videotape. Students may not have Uked this idea, but it is better than not having one at all. And that is what it has come down to. Seniors Uke me find this disheartening. Not only do we not have something to show about the school, but we also do not have anything to show about the students. Hopefully this will be resolved, but if not, okay. I guess individual pictures taken by students will suffice. Another issue to mention is The Passion controversy. Why is it that reUgion and politics are the most talked about topics in the world? Are we not entitled to our own opinions? Maybe referring the “entire world is an overstatement. However, in the United States we are free to speak our minds. At least I thought so. What I do not understand is the fact that somethmg so long ago has to bring conflict among individuals ot today? It is a touchy subject. And maybe I should not even write this. But if everyone can express how they feel, why should I be left out? On that note, I think I will stop here. ^ Lasdy, Spring Fling is right around the corner. I think I can speak for everyone w en say, g • ■May 1 is the day for activities such as Bizarre Wars to name just one. And there is nothing like sitting on e grass Ustenmg to good music. Several bands in the community and several other bands will be playing, nmes are ahead of us for sure. And now that mid-terms are over, it will not be long until those goo mt here again. , Do you have comments or questions on anything written in this issue? Send your concerns to the editor. Thank you.
