and why they believe what they believe. In
order to do this, you must look at all sides of
an issue. Do not base your vote on something
you heard from a friend, research the
candidates yourself and form your own
opinions.
Stand up for what you believe, your voice can
be heard. You heard me right, your voice can
be heard. I don’t know how many pretzels
I’ve nearly choked to death on in the past
couple weeks after hearing people say that
one vote can’t make a difference (my family
says I’m just a fast eater). Who governs the
all-powerful government? The American
people! The voters like you and me!
This election is different than those of the past
by the simple fact that it is a matter of life or
death. What will it take before we start saving
the lives of our brave young American
soldiers? Be a patriot. True patriotism is
loving your country enough to make a
difference, to try and make it better by voting
and understanding what you are voting for.
I hate to break it to some of the students here,
but you are in college now and it may be time
to find out that contrary to popular belief
around this campus, your parents do not know
everything. Do not allow them to tell you who
should run this country. Please, form your
own opinions in the upcoming election.
Take the time to research the candidates. Find
something that you like in all the candidates.
Find something that you don’t like in all the
candidates. Now is the time to push for what
you believe in. We can not continue to let the
older generation tell us what is good for our
future.
On November 2nd, vote for what you believe
in. Take some time to form an opinion, it may
save your life.
When someone has as unique a
take on life as our own "Tex"
does, it would be a shame not to
share it with the public. That's
why this year's Clarion staff have
decided to create an advice
column highlighting the wisdom
of one of our campus treasures. -

cowboy rough and

From what he (Bush) has

Dear Tex,
My boyfriend doesn't
like me. Why?
-Crushed on Campus
Dear Crushed,
Well, I don't want to hurt your
feelings but you might want to
give your boyfriend some
space. That might be one
reason for his behavior. Do
you shave? I know guys don't
like girls that look like men.
That might be another factor
for your boyfriend not liking
you. 1 think you need to shave
everything except your head
and give your boyfriend some
room. Best of luck to you.
