These heavy storms, which were remnants of the hurricanes
that turned Florida upside-down, hit the Appalachians hard.
Asheville was completely shut down and students at UNCA
were given a couple days off because they had no water.
But for most of us here in Brevard life continues on, we can
be thankful to have survived with only property loss and
minor inconvenience, and that is the important part. Houses
can be repaired and roads are fixed, and this will be
remembered as a devastating hurricane season for the entire
East Coast.
