BC Fundraising tops $12 million

Brevard College’s Comprehen
sive Campaign recently topped the
$12 million mark with the help of
alumni, friends, faculty and staff
“On behalf of the entire Brevard
College community, I extend my deep
thanks to everyone who has contrib
uted to the early successes of our
Campaign,” said Brevard College
President Drew Van Horn. “I’m es
pecially proud of our alumni, friends,
faculty and staff who have come for
ward to help us support this historic
effort.”
The College officially kicked off
its "Building from Strength - 'Remem
bering the Past... Securing the Fu
ture'" Campaign in September with a
goal of raising $14 million by 2007.
Funds raised during the Campaign will
be used to make some necessary and
exciting changes to its campus: grow
its student enrollment; renovate resi-

Valentine’s banquet
entertains, raises money

Staff Writer
On Friday February 11, 2005, the Student Gov
ernment Association in combination with the Cam
pus Activities Board sponsored a student, faculty
and staff banquet and dance for Valentine’s Day. The
Banquet included deluxe desserts such as chocolate
fondue with strawberries, pineapple, marshmallows,
a cheese platter, and triangle desserts. While every
one was mingling, the Jazz Band played in the back
ground.
At 8:00 and 9:00, Michael Cohen presented a
video on Valentine horror/romance stories, dating
