The latest innovations in SOFT PLASTICS take center stage eind are sure to land you a lunker. For years the old rubber worm has been the go to bait for most bass anglers. Not much has changed except the plastic worm now comes in over 30 colors and almost as many tail configurations. From the clas sic swirly tail to a paddle tail, a double tail, or no tail at all, each of these provides a different action under water. Zoom Bait Company has improved its “Dead Ringer” which is a ribbed worm, giving it wild flexibil ity and the characteristics of a centipede. Zoom also introduced the “U-Tail” worm design in a 6" that has great motion to trigger a bucketmouth strike. A personal favorite is the Gary Yamamoto line of soft plastic baits. The “Hula Grub” is a five inch skirted bait that has the action to entice the most stubborn fish. Yamamoto brought us “The Kreature” in 2004 and it has quickly become a tournament fa vorite. With the body of a grub, two swirly arms, two rear flappers, and a skirt, this bait will scare the little guys and make room for the trophies. It was the second time this month that a Lady Tornado was given the honor, after Kris-May Richardson, a senior guard from Lewisville, Texas, won the award for the week of February 1".
