Page 2 SERVING THE BREVARD COLLEGE Volume 73, Issue 22 COMMUNITY SINCE 1935 March 14, 2008 Three men charged in on-campus fight From Staff Reports Three men have been charged in relation to an altercation that occurred on the Brevard College campus early Sunday morning. Charles David Hudson, Isaac Crockett Jones, and Jonathan Paul Jones are facing varying charges stemming from the incident. None of the men are Brevard College students. According to court records, the three men assaulted three Brevard College students and one non-student in the parking lot between Green Hall and Dunham Auditorium. Joseph Turner, Jeron Sykes, and Lamont Carpenter were the What's Inside? Jones, 18, of Sapphire, is facing the most serious charges. He is being charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury. According to court records, Jones drove his BMW 318i into Sykes and Turner, injuring Sykes. Jones has been released on a $5,000 bond. Hudson, 27, of Lake Toxaway, is being charged with one felony count of having a handgun on educational property. He is currently being held under $5,000 secured bond. Crockett, 22, of Brevard, is being charged with assault and possession of marijuana. He has been released on a $500 bond. All three men are scheduled to appear in court n April 24. The altercation apparently began at the Mary C. Jenkins Community Center, and was continued on the Brevard College campus, according to a press release issued by the College. The release also stated that all three men have been issued no trespass letters and are baimed from campus. Students seeing any of the three men are urged to report them to Campus Security immediately. Tuition for the 2008-09 schooi year wiii be $19,900 for fuii-time students, and room and board wiii be $7,697.
