Page 12 THE LAST FRONTIER The Clarion \ Sept. 12, 2008 American Hero The town of Brevard is managed perfectly, from its folksy downtown festivals to its on-point targetting of geriatrics for tourism season. And why is the town managed so well? Because city manager Joe Albright takes a hands on approach to managing this town. And not in just a figurative sense. This week Albright has gone under investigation for assaulting a 22-year-old handicapped female at Dugan's Pub on August 31. For illustrating that when matters get out of control, it is the role of government officials to take matters into their own hands, Joe Albright, you are truly an American Hero! Getting to know new professors: Andrew Baker by Elyse Veeneman Staff Writer Drew is one of the two new business teachers at Brevard College. He was bom in 1955 and grew up in New York where he sent most his early years around the ocean swimming and sailing. Drew is a huge Yankees fans and loves the ocean. Baker moved here three months ago from Chicago with his wife Renee their three adorable dogs. He has two daughters: Anne, who is a senior at University of Cincinnati studying Architecture, and Claire, who is a freshman at University of Michigan in the Liberal Arts program. Before he became a teacher at Brevard College Baker worked at Harris Bank from 1977 to 1997 and MarkSense, abusiness- to-business marking services company, from 1977 to 2008. He has extensive experience in marking, system analysis, management, process reengineering, customer service, and operations. In 2007, he became a professor at the ITT Technical. There he taught Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Policy Analysis. Baker's credential should make him a great asset to Brevard college.
