Page 6 Arts and Life The Clarion September 26, 2008 New addistions this week on iTunes by BJ Wanlund Staff Writer All right, after a slight (semi-forced) hiatus, it’s baaa-aaack!! However, this week the music offerings are ridiculously sparse. Only 2 bear any mentioning. A couple of years ago, a guy came through here by the name of Matt Duke. Turns out he’s got a new CD out this week, called Kingdom Underground. The other one is another Radiohead Create-Your-Own Remix that was featured in The Clarion however long ago it was, though this time you can take a crack at remixing “Reckoner” from the album “In Rainbows”. Movies aren’t much better Only new releases this week are Leatherheads, Sex & The City: The Movie, the Godfather trilogy (Yes, that Godfather trilogy), and Michael Moore’s new film. Slacker Nation (available for free). That’s all, folks. In TV shows, at least we get something of substance, since the new season is starting. We get the new seasons of Boston Legal (unfortunately the LAST season of Boston Legal, but what can you do??), Smallville, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, House, Gossip Girl, Lipstick Jungle (why did they give this another season?). Desperate Housewives (getting old by now). Chuck, Brothers and Sisters, and Ugly Betty. In audiobooks, they have just added Devil May Care by Sebastian Faulks (about time!). Bringer (the next book in The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini), and that’s about it. And now to my picks! Before I do, however, I just wish to say that I am going to be putting up back issues of This Week on iTunes (including the ones I missed) onto my Mac-only blog (found at http://mackintoshfuntime.wordpress. com/) sometime this week or next week. And my music single pick this week is You Know My Name by Chris Cornell, in honor of Alicia Keys and Jack White’s duet for the next James Bond film. Quantum of Solace, coming out the 23rd of October in North America, but out now in the rest of the world. My music album pick is a long time coming for those of you who know me. I’m finally choosing the 1985 self-titled comeback album by the group Heart. Just search for Heart in iTunes, and you’ll find it when you click Heart in the Artists thing in your search results. My TV show pick this week is the Peanuts Specials “show” which is really a facade for downloading obscure Peanuts specials animated by the late Bill Melendez. Recommendations are It’s A Mystery, Charlie Brown and You’re A Good Sport, Charlie Brown. My movie pick this week is the 1996 Romeo and Juliet film directed by Franco Zeffirelli, and the root song for the Genius Playlist this week is “The Ballad of Holhs Brown” by Bob Dylan. Okay folks, that should do it, and until next time. Stay iTuned!
