Quantum of Solace. When the title was
first aimounced, I was like “Quantum of
WHAT?” Then, the title theme came out,
the Alicia Keys-Jack White monstrosity
“Another Way To Die”, and my expecta
tions for the film were lowered signifi
cantly.
I must say, I was expecting a far worse
movie than we got. This movie is actually
quite good, with a number of key action
scenes; however, two of these key action
scenes were ruined by fast cutting: the big
chase scene cutting between Bond’s chase
and the racetrack, and the scene at the
opera where it cuts real quick between the
action in Tosca and what’s happening not
that far away.
Overall, it was a good movie, and I’ll
probably buy it when it comes out on DVD
in a few weeks, but I docked a half-star for
the 2 ruined action scenes and the atrocious
title theme that is worse than Tom Jones’s
Thunderball theme.
tin in 1993, the setting of the play takes
place during 1904 in Paris, France where
characters Albert Einstein and Pablo Pi
casso meet at a bar called Lapin Agile.
Both characters are in their early 20’s and
engage in a conversation about talent and
intellect which leads to a debate involving
the importance of science and art in the
twentieth century.
The play has not sold out yet, but tickets
are selling fast. Any student interested in
seeing the play should purchase their ticket
as soon as possible, since Steve Martin is an
Emmy Award-winning actor, comedian and
writer Martin’s play has had a successful
run in the past when performed in other cit
ies, and the B C cast will not let the audience
down with this performance.
Aposterforthe play has not been released
yet, but there is a contest to see who can
create the best poster design which will be
used to promote the play around campus.
Anyone that has already created a design
or is interested in creating a design should
speak to Kelly Gordon.
