March 6, 2009 | The Clarion Lifestyles Page 3 IWIL Program to spring break in SC by Ashten Sheen Contributor The upcoming week presents new chal lenges and opportunities for the IWIL Women. Traveling to Georgetown, South Carolina they will go full force into acts of service. Until now, the women have provided a solid foundation for the many generations of women to come. In this trip however, it is their goal to revitalize the home of an impoverished family. Working closely with Michelle Harvey and Daniel, the women have chosen the site as well as plaimed the entire event from start to finish. With weeks of discipline, effort, and dedi cation on the line there is much hope for this adventure. One ofthe truly touching things about this trip is that it is service-driven. As leaders, there is an incredible amount of potential in that not only they will be giving of themselves to enrich the lives of others, but the endless possibilities of what they will learn throughout the process. During the process the women were asked to give their thoughts concerning the trip. These thoughts will give an insight as to how the women view this opportunity as an individual, as well as a unified group coming together for an amazing cause. -Ashton Sheen “I'm super excited. I've worked on proj ects like this before. I really like getting to know the people and hearing their stories. To me making a personal coimection with the person your helping is true compas sion. “ -Kristen Taylor “I'm really excited about this service trip because it will give me a chance to throw myself head-in into the community. The while we are challenged to grow and give of our time, but also of our hearts. Every time we give, we allow an opportunity for relationships to be formed and for learn ing to take place. I am excited to create lasting bonds with the people we will be working with and for, and to share in the joy of serving.” -Lucy Matthews "I'm quite excited for the Spring Break trip-I've never done constmction work of any kind, so this will certainly be a new experience!
