The festival typically hosts a plethora of bluegrass and southem-Appalachian style singer-song- writers. This year the headlining bands for the festival include: Jim Lauderdale (Grammy wiimer), Belleville Outfit, Lake Street Dive, Now You See Them, Pale Young Gentlemen, The Claire Lynch Band and Hobex. Other locally renowned artists playing at the festival include: Michael Reno Harrell, Moon Shine Babies, Sam Anderson, Rock Killough and Gove Scrivenor Speaking as a person who has attended the fes tival the past 5 years (and already has tickets for this year), 1 can person ally attest to the incredible atmosphere, mu sic and overall experience that this festival offers. Attendees of the festival can plan to meet some interesting, salt-of-the-earth BMK 111 lit: itKf,'*riyu. people, eat some great food provided by local eateries, drink good beer, check-out the renderings of many local artists at the festivals open air market and also enjoy some great bluegrass and traditional Ap palachian style music. Ticket prices for the festival are as follows: a full-weekend camping pass costs $100; Friday tickets cost $35, Saturday tickets cost $45 and Sunday tickets cost $25. However, if 1 were to make a personal recommendation, 1 would suggest that if you plan to attend the festival, you buy a weekend camping pass. Although it looks pricey, the experience of the festival well outweighs the cost of a ticket. For additional information about the festival, go to www.flatrockmusicfes- tival.com or, talk to me.
