McKittrick After being down to Catawba throughout the entire game, the Tornados pulled out a surprise victory with 5 minutes to go. The Catawba Indians threatened twice early on in the game, however, the Tornados were able to hold them to two field goals. Brevard had trouble creating offense with a field in poor condition, however, late in the 4th quarter, the defense was able to create some offense. On a fourth down, several Tornados broke through the Catawba offensive line and blocked a punt. Richard Ray was able to pick up the ball and carry it into the endzone for a touchdown. After tacking on the extra point, the Tornados took the lead for the first time, and never let it go. The Tornados finish their regular season on Saturday, November 7th at Newberry. A win Saturday would guarantee a wiiming season in conference play. Takeout can eat up your savings.
