Senior Art Show The show will take place In Spiers Gallery, Sims Art Building, featuring 9 seniors. Special insert to The Clarion p Vol. 75 No. 23 www.brevard.edu/clarion INSIDE Realism, ^ ~ Symbol id I, Impressionism/^" /— Futurism, ^ Expressionism, Surrealism... is the title the students chose to represent all the terminology used to describe their artwork The Brevard College Art Department will present its senior art exhibition from April 9 to May 5 at Spiers Gallery. An opening reception will be held Friday, April 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the gallery, which is located in Sims Art Center. The exhibit will feature the works of nine Brevard College senior art majors. They include: Donna Hooper, graphic design; Shaton Pratt and Maranda Ashe, painting; Laura Barr, Andrew Davis and Brooke Seaman, sculpture; and Jennifer Gift, Marc Newton and Rachel Montgomery, photography. Each student will give a brief gallery talk about their work at 6 p.m. during the opening reception. The reception and exhibit visitations are free to the public. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays when the College is ■■ in session. The exhibit will be on display until May 5. Spiers Gallery is a contemporary 1,500 square foot gallery located within the Sims Art Center on the Brevard College campus. ■. Exhibitions in Spiers Gallery are ongoing throughout the year and include shows by Brevard College students and faculty members as well as visiting artists from Western North Carolina and around the country.
