Sign of the Times
We at the Clarion are the
first to admit that everyone
makes mistakes. A simple
mislabeling would never
attract the scrutiny of
this staff, but we felt that
this egregious offense
warranted an exception.
Forget for a moment
that persimmons are
generally red. The bags

Kathy Cruz Marrero's fall topped
headlines nation-wide this week. The 49
year old was so enthralled with texting
on her cell phone that she didn't see
fountain hurdling toward her at walking
speed.
Marrero took a plunge which the
nearby security guard found rather
humurous.
Marrero didn't find the incident quite
so funny. She has threatened the
"parties responsible" with a lawsuit.
We at the Clarion aren't sure as to
how Marrero would bring herself to
court. It's seems apparent that walking
into a fountain is a solo effort. For
emphasizing the dangers of texting-
and-walking and blaming it on innocent
bystanders, Kathy Cruz Marrero is this
week's American Hero.
