While the male portion of the audience hung their heads throughout the second act, most of the females including Nancy Ballinger and Meredith Davenport both agreed, “We loved it!” With the message of “No Peace, No Sex” the women of Greece ruled over their husbands and soldiers and ultimately brought peace (and sex) to Greece. Not everyone who attended the play on opening night was caught up in the superficialities of genitals, some came just to support their friends and see good theatre. “It was a truly spectacular performance, a program of momentous proportions,” said Ryan Fiftick. Every semester it seems that the Brevard College Theatre Faculty finds a great play to put on. With special guest director Michael Lilly in his fifth production at Brevard “Lysistrata” is a hit. The theme of women empowerment was constant throughout the night and summed up by the line shouted by Christie Bethard, “We’re not ladies, we’re bitches.” Friday night’s performance is already sold out and tickets for the remaining shows are quickly selling out as well. “The play is decent. It’s funny, thought provoking, and I agree with John Lennon that we should all give peace a chance,” said student Tristan Cowie. I -L hit on 0 j op Cr-J^5hi.nd Into 0, 03p ^ to Artar?
