Page 2 Campus News The Clarion | Aprils, 2011 SGA executive board candidates Lucy Matthews: Hey Tornados! This year serving as your SGA President has been a time of growth and initiative for me and for SGA as an organization. I have seen the power of student voice be strengthened and heard, and been overwhelmed by how passionate each of you are about your work- academically, athletically, artistically, personally, and as members of our Brevard Community. The year has been a time of learning, changing and discovering what it really means when we say "We are BC!" SGA has worked hard to maintain campus traditions and community. We are proud of the many small and large ways that we hope we are making a difference for YOU. If re-elected to serve next year, I plan to continue the legacy of what SGA has become with a vision for way s that we can strengthen our student voice through not only helping each of you to feel a sense of ownership of the college, but also through improving relationships and communication between the many groups that contribute to and comprise Brevard. This is a great place to live, leam, and thrive and I look forward to all that we can accomplish working together next year! We are BC! Want your event in the Clarion? I/Ve n^d to know about it! Send us information at: Clarion@brevard.edu Mark Moseley: I am a sophomore at BC and have participated in SGA as a senator for two years, and I am excited to be running for SGA Vice President. I have been extremely involved with Brevard through Choir, clubs, as a student representative for the Academic Policies Committee, planning Homecoming for 2010, CAB, and the WLEE department. I have always been involved in the running of my school from the student perspective and believe that it is important that students stay active and participate to create and mold their own community in their school. I love SGA and want to make it the best it can be! My vision for Brevard and SGA is for every department, student, faculty, and aspect of this community to connected and intertwined with one another To become an open and encouraging place for all students to come and build their own Brevard and work together to better each other in various and numerous ways. Dorothy Buff: My name is Dorothy Lynn Buff and I am currently a freshman here at Brevard College. I am running for the position of Treasurer in Brevard College’s Student Government Association. The reason for my interest in being part of SGA is because I want to make this campus better I think that I may be able to help if I am elected treasurer A philosophy that I try to live by is “The best way to change the world is through random acts of kindness.” I think that I would be an excellent treasurer and I would do my absolute best at the job.
