TV on the Radio, Moby, The Flaming Lips and Passion Pit are but a few of the bands selected to commemorate Bob Moog and his musical legacy. Moog is the creator of the audio synthesizer, and has arguably had the most influence on contemporary music. His creation in 1964 was different than other synthesizers in that it utilized a keyboard interface with the musicians. This allowed for infinite control of sound manipulation, and gave birth to a musical revolution. Moog spent the last thirty years of his life living in Asheville, and this is the second year it has been held there.
