Page 6 The Clarion \ Nov. 11,2011 $20 PC game: Amnesia By Alex McCracken staff Writer I had a bud last year that bet me forty five bucks that I couldn't finish this game. Not because it was too difficult, or because I wouldn't like it, but that I would be too afraid to go back in. Amnesia is quite simply, the scariest game on the market, and easily the hardest time I've ever had finishing a game that i actually enjoyed playing. This is a nerve raking, mind fraking, masterpiece of psychological horror that marks the only time a game (or any movie) has ever made me scream "Nooooo!" involuntarily out of a blind, soul crushed panic. I'd call amnesia a puzzle game if you really had to press me, but it's so much more than that. It captures perfectly, what it's like to go crazy. I don't want to ruin much more. Suffice to say, you're going to want to light every damned candle you can find, and make sure you know how to get to a good hiding spot as fast as you can. You won't find any guns or ammo stashed away in crates and drawers, just flint and lamp oil, and it's going to have to be enough for you to fight for your life. Just know what you're getting into with this game (there's a free demo off of steam.com) and I promise you'll hear the game's fabulous disembodied doggie death rattle s in your ® dreams.
