Jan. 20, 2012 | The Clarion Campus News Page 3 Brevard College Receives Connestee Falls Scholarship Funds Brevard College recently received a check for $9,000 from the Connestee Falls Scholarship Program to help support local Transylvania County students attending Brevard College. “Students at Brevard College benefit greatly from the continued generosity of residents of Connestee Falls,” said Brevard College President David Joyce. “We very much value our relationship with Connestee Falls and are grateful for the community’s long history of supporting higher education in our community,” “Connestee Falls residents place a very high value on education and we are pleased to be able to help local students annually with these scholarship funds," said Bill Watson, last year’s co-chair of the Connestee Falls Scholarship Program and member of the Brevard College Board of Visitors. Begun in 1987, the Connestee Falls Scholarship Program has benefited many talented and deserving students from Transylvania County. Brevard College alone has been the recipient of more than $100,000 since the inception of this program. These scholarships have provided academic support to more than 70 students during the past 25 years. Paranormal Activity 3 By Cassie Smatana staff Writer The Campus Activities Board (CAB) started off the semester with a great evening of Bingo. Last Friday Jan. 13,55 students participated in Bingo night; winning prizes that ranged from laundry soap to lint rollers. If you missed out last Friday don’t worry! CAB’s Bingo night will happen the second Friday of every month giving you more chances to win great practical items that every college student needs and wants. In addition to the popular Bingo night, a campfire was set up by the Outdoor Program which provided a great relaxing environment with a few guitars and some singing, not to mention smores! Come out Jan. 28, at 5:30 p.m. where a campfire will be up and blazing along with the opportunity to camp out in the Residential Quad. Do you like scary movies? Well CAB Cinema presents a showing of Paranormal Activity 3 on Sunday night, Jan. 22, in Dunham Auditorium. The movie will be shown at 9 p.m. and snacks will be provided. Bring a flashlight if you need it for the walk back to your room. If you’re looking to create or continue a New Year’s Resolution, come to the Reserve Dining Room on Monday night to CAB Talks and Topics for a New Year’s Resolution Workshop, from 5-8 p.m., drop in at any time to put your New Year’s Resolution in writing! All supplies will be provided along with tips on how to make a resolution and keep li Sj it! Are you smart and want to win a prize? Or maybe you’re not that smart and still want to try and win prize? Get your friends together and come to Trivia Night!
