jfe ill i, ;! i:; i,. :| 11 i! - Solicitation You will no doubt have noticed that this issue of Lambda contains ads for the first time in our publishing history. As of Jan. 31, only $59 had been contri buted from subscriptions for the publication of the newsletter. Even this fig ure is deceiving, because several kind readers sent in donations exceeding $2. Out of a mailing of 300 off-campus copies and the distribution of an additional 500 on campus, only 25 people sent in $2 for their subscriptions. Rather than forgetting about Lambda for the spring semester, the staff has been working to solicit advertising so that we could put out at least this issue for the term, particularly because we felt the need to give as much publicity as possible to two major activities involving the CGA. The first. Gay Awareness Week, is one of CGA's most important activities the entire year, and the second is the North Carolina Gay & Lesbian Conference, which is being sponsored (although not organized or funded) by the CGA. This conference, which is being held for the first time this year, is titled "Sur vival in a Hostile Society" and features Dan Bradley, the former president of the Legal Services Corporation. Although it may seem late for the year, if you have not yet sent in your $2, please take the time to do so. Larger contributions are welcome too. Your donation will make the difference. In an introduction the co-authors, Robert Nugent, SDS, Jeannine Gramick, SSND, and Thomas Oddo, CSC, state that "Gay ministry...means challenging each other to move beyond hardened positions or simplistic slogans." The New Primer is the first work of its kind to cover in a concise, accur- Dear Lambda, I am an economics major in my fourth year at [a southern university].
