The school year has come to a conclusion signifying the
end of another chapter in LAMBDA history. This first-ever online-
exclusive edition of LAMBDA looks back at this Spring Semester,
from the GLBT-SA’s annual Celebration Week to the continuing
controversy surrounding the Alpha Iota Omega Christian Fraternity,
and ahead to next year with interviews from next year’s GLBT-SA
Co-Chairs.
In the spirit of firsts, the LAMBDA staff is proud to intro
duce a new section entitled “Allied Faces,” designed to recognize
prominent allies of the LGBTIQ community on campus.
Also in this issue, two of our staff writers tackle what defines
the basis of human attraction; one in an opinion piece and one in a
review of a lecture by transgendered biologist Joan Roughgarden.
In GLBT-SA’s never ending quest to increase diversity and
tolerance, a new arm aimed at addressing the needs of LGBTIQ
persons and allies of color. United for New Ideas Towards Ethnic
Diversity (U.N.I.T.E.D.), has been formed by former members of
Queer People And Allies of Color (QPAC). You can learn all about
it right here.
As you turn (or click, rather) through these pages, we hope
that you are able to reflect on your year with glee and will continue
thinking about LGBTIQ issues over the summer. Thank you to all
of our loyal readers! LAMBDA shall return in the Fall!
