(Continued on page 8) I am Content 1 do not ask to understand All that great minds know. I ask but one small steady light To guide me as I go; One sturdy strand of faith that holds And will not let me fall; One firm conviction in my heart To route temptation’s call. I do not ask to understand The Power that reigns above- I am content that in my heart I know His boundless love. By Helen Lowrie Marshall Promises of God “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.” II Chronicle 15:7 He’s Always there “. . . lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:20. My soul keeps rising in every greater heights in love of God. No pit is so deep that Jesus isn’t deeper. Scripture “But what things were gain to me, 1 those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss 1 for the exellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have I suffered the loss of all things, and do I count them but dung, that I may win Christ. And he found in him, not having mine I own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith; That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made com- 1 formable unto his death. If I by any means Might attain unto 1 the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attaubed I either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of 1 Christ Jesus. Brethen, I count not myself to i;ave apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward I the mark for the prize of the high call- ' =ng of God m Christ Jesus. Sonrise If you’ve ever stood on 10th floor James early in the morning and have seen the sonrise I’m sure that a very peaceful feeling must have come over you. At that height you can see a very great distance. The orange and yellow streaking through the trees is so beautiful. Praise the God who created it. Although the streaks of colors are the part of the picture that attracts your at tention, the actual glow comes from the sun at the center. The hues all across the sky are the rays from the sun which are passing through and being reflected off the clouds and elements in the air. That’s the way things are when we allow the Son of God to rise in our hearts when we finally allow Him to be operative in our lives. The clouds which not much earlier were dark, not only become bright but also beautiful. Everything takes on a glow as He is reflected in every part of our lives. We sing a song that says “in sorrow I can feel glad”. That’s a reflection of the Son rising in our hearts. But if you notice the sun is in the center of the sunrise and it’s light radiates out. So, Jesus must be in the center of our hearts if the clouds and particles in our lives are to be set aglow. If we only allow Him in an area of our lives then only part of our sky will be transform ed. It’s only after the Sonrise that we can feel the warmth of Christ’s love. It’s on ly after the Sonrise that we can walk in the light. And it’s only after the Sonrise that we can have Jesus radiating through our lives to others. For those of us who’ve accepted Christ we need to allow Him to rise tota- ly in our lives. We need to allow Him to rise higher in our sky. He said that if He'd lifted He’d draw all men unto Himself. The higher we allow Him to rise in our hearts the more people will see His light shinning through us. If you haven’t accepted Jesus into your life scriptures say that now is the day of salvation. Jesus is anxious to rise in your life also and transform the darkness into His glory. He’ll make a difference in you and everything around you. As the sun rises in the sky and its rays extend outward each thing they touch becomes changed. “Through the tender mercies of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow or death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Let the redeemed say so Last year was a special blessing for us-God gave us an avenue through which we could exalt His name and pro claim the gospel to those who read the Black Ink. The Fellowship section was one of the most read sections of the paper. We’re praying that the Lord will use us even more this year. It’s a priviledge to be chilc^fin of the most High God. It’s a priviledge to spread His gospel. Each Christian has been called to be ambassadors for Christ and as we’ve received the bless ed knowledge of Jesus to share it with others. If you have something to share contact Sheri at 942-7495. Never Again The Black Ink Stoff will hov a potluck dinner Mon September 10, at 6:30 P>|^ Upendo. Anyone intereSie in attending can contac Theresa William* at 933-48W *^ome saints have begun “never again” lists. It’s a good concept even if you don’t ac- luully write one out. This is how it works; .... The purpose of a'“never again” list is to stop claiming things such as poverty, sickness, defeat, the nower of sin over us. It’s to stress to ourselves that Jesus bore all when He died on the cross. When we continue to say things like “I’m just a sickly per son", or “There’s no way I’ll pass Stat 11”, or “I just can’t overcome that sin. ’ We make’Jesus’ death vain in that area of our lives. Learn the promises of God and apply them to your life. We are victorious in Jesus Christ. Let’s profess victory I ' - , ‘ - ..a.«
