and government about their leadership sivles, ('hristiansen said.

[)lores c oncepts of leadership. In their junior sear the fellows are expected to organize and
iniplc-ment a service project tor the Chapel Hill Carrboro cmmunits ol the UNC-( H cam
pus
Before their senior sear the students participate in an internship that is located with the
,\ssistance of the program.

Tuesday, April 21 — Intramural .softball playoffs have begun.

Ihursday, April 23 - Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity will sponsor a jam in
Tin Can,
— Freshman Block Show will be in Great Hall. A poetry reading
will follow.
Sunday, April 26 — The BSM Gospel Choir will hold its annual Spr
ing Concert at 3 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
— The BSM Awards Banquet will be at 6 p.m. in rooms 207-209 in
the Student Union. The banquet will be potluck,
I uesday, April 28 - A reception will be held in honor of Dr, Sonya
Stone at 7;30 p.m. in Morrison Lounge. Refreshments will be
serve.
Wednesday, April 29 — "Shaft" will be presented as a free flick at 8
p.m. in 106 Carroll Hall.
Thursday, April 30 — Minorities in Mass Media will hold an Open
House at 7 p.m. in Hinton James Fighth Floor Lounge. All current
members are urged to attend and anyone interested in becoming a
member is invited to attend.

Saturday, May 2 — The Orange County Rape Crisis Center will spon
sor workshops for the Second Annual "Take Back the Night
March," 2-7 p.m. at Chapel of the Cross. The March will begin at
8:30 p.m. at the Bell Tower Parking Lot and end with a rally at Carr
Mill Mall in Carrboro.
Ongoing Events
Orange Alive, sponsored by the Carrboro Art School in coopera
tion with The Recreation Departments of Orange County, Chapel
Hill and Carrboro, will be held April 25-May 3. The series of events
will include a kickoff processional, performing arts, dance, gallery,
exhibits, music, and arts and crafts.
Exams will be May 4-13.
The Hunger Action Committee is sponsoring cheap lunches, con
sisting of cornbread, beans and water, every Wednesday at noon.
The lunches will be held in rooms 202 and 204 of the Carolina
Union, and cost $1.
The Orange County Women's Center is sponsoring a Peer
Counseling Program for women who want to “talk through" their
everyday stresses of life. Counselors are available Monday through
I riday, days and evenings; Saturday and Sunday during the day. For
more information call 968-4646.
The first summer school session will begin May 27 and continue
through June 26. Residence halls will open May 25, The second sum
mer session w'ill be July 7-August 6. Residence halls will open July 5.
Project Uplift will be May 28-30 and lune 11-13. Applications are
now available in the BSM office.
Pre-Orientation will be August 15-16 Applications for participa
tion are now available in BSM office and Meele Building
