BSM nominee runs on homecoming court by KIMBERLEY M. MAXWELL Staff Writer For four years in a row, from 1976-1979, UNC had Black Homecom ing queens. The BSM hoped to start another streak this year with its nominee, Chrystal Redding. Redding, an international studies ma jor, is from Tillery and wants to attend law school at either Columbia or Georgetown University. This summer she will be an intern for Hewlett-Packard Corporation. Redding participates in many UNC organizations. She is a Sweet Caroline, Assistant Attorney General for the Student Government Judicial Branch, Financial Secretary for Delta Sigma Theta Sorori ty, and a member of the BSM. Redding is an Austin-Pleasant scholar and has earned a 3.0 grade point average each semester. Last year she received the Outstanding Neophyte Award from the UNC Black Greek Council, which is given to first-year Greeks, and the Socie ty of Hellenas Award, which recognizes personal service to the Greeks. Even though Redding wants to study international law, she has two long-term goals. One, she would like to work for the United Nations as an advisor to the am bassadors. Two, she would like to even tually own her own international law practice. Redding would like to thank the BSM for its nomination and support.
