Dear Members of the BSM, UNC Faculty, and Student Body,
It brings me great pleasure to present to you the much anticipated
30th anniversary issue of the Black Ink. It is an issue that I hope every
member of this community can take pride in and hopefully rejoice in the
fact that after many silent years, the Black Ink has regained its voice, in
part due to the efforts of the first editor Terrance S. McGill. However, this
success would not be possible without acknowledging and thanking some
very special people. First and foremost, I would like to thank God,
because without Him, we would not have been able to put out this issue. I
would also like to thank Professor Chuck Stone for his generous donation
to the Black Ink which helped us to be able to cover the costs of printing.
I thank the BCC and our advisor Ange-Marie Hancock for providing us
with work space and for giving us much love and support throughout this
entire process. Most importantly, I would like to thank the Editorial
Board of the Black Ink . Ishna, Kimesha, Dee, Jaime, Darrell, Erin, and
Delvin - I am truly indebted to you all. You have been there from the
beginning, and I appreciate the long hours you put in, all for the love
informing our community. Also, 1 would like to especially thank
Antoinette Parker for her hard work in designing this issue and I give her
“mad props” for the excellent design work. Last but not least, this issue
would not be possible without the generous article contributions by staff
writers and facultymembers. Thanks everyone for your support and
enjoy!!!
