Do We Need A Revolution In The New Millennium? Photo: BSM Archives A Wake up call to black America, or not? By Cheritta Pridgen The coming of the new mil lennium is a very hot topic nowadays. When you turn on the television, listen to the radio, open up a newspaper or magazine, there is always talk about the new millennium, whether it be about alien invasions or com puter breakdowns. That is all good but I have a question, while everyone is worried about the aliens and computers, who is wor ried about the future of Blacks in America? The response of every one who reads this article should be, “1 am.” As we get closer and closer to the coming of the new millennium, people should think about what will happen in the future, and more importantly, what will change? The new millennium could hold greater opportunities for Blacks in America or maybe it could be the beginning of Black regression. We all know there is truth in the saying that those who fail to remember the past are doomed to repeat it, right? With this thought in mind, we should look back and think about the enslavement of our ancestors, segregation and the racism and inequality of the past.
