ho did you like best on the
how?
t’avell, he was my roll dog. We got
long best. I went on the show
xpecting a bond between me and
he other people in our cast but we
ere not in a winnebego where
e’d be forced to bond. We were
n a ship with 600 students to
nteract with.
How did it feel having
everyone in your business?
j^nd not only the TV viewers
ut also the people on the
hip and your cast members.
n going on the show, I knew the deal. I knew I had
0 be careful about what I did, but I also knew that I
lad to keep it real. I didn’t go on the show looking
or drama
|/Vhat caused the biggest controversy on the
how?
Jamn people were uncompromising because they had
:oo much to represent for! Like Ayanna, since she
nad a lot of people watching her, like her mom,
Howard, black women, and HBCUs. She had the
weight of the world on her shoulders. She wouldn t
work things out because she is thinking about how
:hey are represented. Also, females cause contro-
/ersy, but you know how y’all are.
Speaking of females, were there any in
our life on semester at sea?
'h yeah, and for the record I did not mess with
'eronica! I was seeing someone on the ship, Latoya,
ind on the show they showed us saying we would stop
seeing each other but we never did. We saw each

other up until we left the ship. We split up because \
of distance.
What do you think of the current Road
Rules show when you watch it?
I just laugh because it’s supposed to be a documen
tary of people’s lives. But now, it’s been on for so
long that it’s hard to find people who haven’t seen
the show. So you get more people who want to be on
TV, and more people that cause drama because
they’re on TV. It’s funny.
Did you think you fit in?
For the most part, but there were definitely times
that you feel alone when there is no one there like
you, especially on that ship. That was a white ass
ship, only four black guys out of 600 students!
