We were trying to plan so much and do little. We were being like sponges soaking in and never being squeezed out. This way, with one worship service, we can have more time to become outreach ori ented.” Sophomore Kelly Gard ner agrees that G-a-p is just what our campus needed. “I like the unity between the groups and the elimina tion of— I don’t want to say cliques, but it just breaks down student walls on cam pus. I love it,” Gardner said. Unity mean having a larger group and that can mean being a face in a crowd. “I wish that it was small er. I come from a small church and I guess I’m just not used to big groups like that. Don’t get me wrongs I do think it’s awesome, I’m just gonna have to get used to the big group,” Natalie Woods, a freshman, said. Also, having a large group meet in a chapel can shadow a traditional church service, a downer for some students. “I feel like we’re going to church on Tuesday night because it’s the same sce nario. I do wish that it was held in a different place where we had more room,” said Jacqueline, a freshman. Myriad numbers also makes it harder to participate in activities that a smaller group could offer. “I liked the small group prayer time with BSU but I know that’s hard to do with a large group like at G-a-P,” SUBMIT! The rebutal of the CMU council is made clear through the availability of various smaller organizations. “When people get truly involved in worship, if they are really serious, they have opportunities to be involved in more intimate settings like FOCUS, small group bible studies, off-campus min istries and others, “ Jessup said. “To sum up G-a-P, it’s the out-pouring of God through people. It signifies the unity of the body of Christ. Having three separate meetings each week was not showing that body. “The purpose of coming is not to get something out of it, but to give what we have to God through worship. G-a-P lets us give God one hour of our lives each week just to worship him. Everyone is welcome. We’re imperfect people worshiping a perfect God,” Veek said.
