Fooiball Season Concludes
GREY ROMPS OVER YELLOW
Grey scored at will in completely demolishing yellow by
the lopsided score of 58-0. It was no contest as Grey just
warmed up for their next game against Blue.
GREEN ROLLS ON
Green found the breaks going their way as they rushed to
a 46-6 victory over Red to keep up with Grey in the race for
first place. Green had Red completely outclassed.
GREEN TAKES FIRST PLACE
Green outscored Grey 19-13 to take over first place in the
standings. The Jiggers rushed off to a 19-6 lead before Grey
started coming back. However, Green gave up one more touch
down and then locked the gate up to knock Grey into a second
place tie with Blue.
BLUE ROMPS
Blue pushed Grey further down the standings with an easy
25-0 victory that left them as the only challenger of Green.
Grey’s usually potent offense was neutralized by a hard rush
ing Blue line that never gave Grey much of a chance to generate
an offense.
YELLOW WINS FIRST
Yellow surprised everyone taking a 12-7 triumph over Red
for their first victory. Yellow’s refusal to give up paid off as
they held off countless Red threats. Yellow’s offense finally
found the right octene as they punched two scores across.
YELLOW CONTINUES TO ROLL
Yellow completely dominated the game in knocking Orange
around for a 9-0 victory. Yellow’s defense was superb as
Orange never even threatened to score. This was Yellow’s
second win tying them with Red.
GREY BEATS ORANGE
Grey started the long trail back with a 19-8 victory over
Orange. Grey pushed off to a 13-0 lead before Orange scored
a touchdown and a safety. However, another touchdown put
the game beyond Orange’s reach to insure the victory.
BLUE BEATS YELLOW
On Homecoming Blue crushed Yellow 38-6 to keep their title
hopes alive. Blue ran off with a 19-0 lead before yellow scored
then it was all Blue in another smashing victory.
GREY TOYS WITH RED
Grey played around with Red during Homecoming to win
20-0. However. Grey was eliminated from any hopes for the title
or second place as Blue won. Grey had little trouble with
Red as they dominated the game.
GREEN ELECTROCUTED
Green was found guilty of complacency by Orange and
sentenced to electrocution by 13-12. The best game during Home
coming saw Orange knock Green into a first place tie with
Blue and send Blue’s title hopes flaming to new heights. Orange
scored and made the point but Green retaliated to make the
score 7-6 Orange. The Jiggers scored with the second half kick-
off to take a 12-7 lead. With 48 seconds left and no time outs,
quarterback Doug Maxwell picked Orange up by its pants and
guided Orange 52 yards in four plays to pull off the electrify
ing upset. Therefore Green’s chances of at least a tie for the
title was ruined as they must beat Blue now to win it.
ORANGE ROU^ ON
Orange rolled over Red 27-0 with comparative ease to se
cure their hold on fourth place. Orange’s usually impotent of
fense received a good supply of hormones as they scored three
touchdowns on offense and one on an interception. Red finish
ed in a tie for fifth with Yellow.
GREY WALKS TO WIN
Grey finished its season with a 39-19 victory over yellow
which was declared as a forfeit 1-0 in Grey’s favor. Yellow did
not have the required number of men to play but it would have
had little effect on the outcome as they were far above their
class. J.B.

College Cheerleaders Chosen
Eight talented girls were chosen to represent St. Andrews
as college cheerleaders. These girls were chosen on skill and
performance, grace, pep, enthusiasm, rhythm, and sportsman
ship as they participated in the cheerleader tryouts. Sophomore
Gail Chandler was chosen as chief with Diane Monroe serving
as co-chief. Others are Rita Almond, Barbara Bolton, Doreen
Carter, Gail Carlson, Patsy Pearce, and Nancy Dwyre. Mary
Lou Boling^er, Andrea Bolton, Nancy Bullard, Jane O’Daniel, and
Sandra McLeese were chosen as the five alternates.
These girls have been busy practicing and preparing for the
basketball games ahead. Chief Chandler has reported that the
practices are real good, and that it is a fine group to work
with. Royal blue and white are the colors that will be out
front cheering for the Knights of St. Andrews led by the chief
dressed in' white.
In interviewing most of the cheerleaders their main com
ment is that they are very happy to represent the coUege and
hope that they will do a “good” job.
A pep club is being organized to boost the school spirit.
There will be a special section set aside at the ballgames for
those who will support this club. Plans are being made to
sponsor pep rallies before basketball games begin. It is hoped
that this will encourage students to boost the team and build
up some much needed school spirit for St. Andrews.
It is a challenge for each of us in the student body to
strive in making school spirit. These eight girls cannot do all
this by themselves. Won’t you be behind them as they fight and
cheer The Knights of St. Andrews to victory. lb
