V^gel6 THE LANCE November 3, 1988 r ^ 31 Students Named All- Academic Communications The women’s basketball all- academic team members were: Loma Biagoli from Baldwin, N.Y.; and Deborah Ayers from Cameron, N.C. Softball players selected were: Tonya Olson from Alpharetta, Ga.; Deidre Norris from Valley Stream, N.Y.; and Donilee Alexander from Waynsboro, Va. Equestrian team members selected as all-academic were: Cindy Adams Newburg, N.C.; Cathleen Caridakis from Fairfax, Va.; Melinda Denny from Decatur, Ga.; Kelly Faunt from Leesburg, Fla.; Heather Moncrief from Kaneohe, Hawaii; Malinda Powers from Advance, N.C.; Chrissie Sabia from Lakeland, Fla.; Richard Sneed from Fayetteville, N.C.; Beth White from Westminster, Md.; Pam Whitfield from Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Amy Wright from Simpsonville, S.C. St. Andrews has 31 members of the Dixie Conference All-Academic Team for the 1987-88 school year. To qualify, a student must earn at least a “B” average each semester of the aca demic year, and participate in a varsity sport at the school. The volleyball all academic team members were; Margaret Fuller from Atlanta, Ga.; Lori Stroud from Wilmington, N.C.; Diana Jones from Townson, Mdi; and Kristin Mosher from Lawrenceville, GA. The baseball players selected included: Kent Smith from Saskatchewan, Canada; Jim Isenhart from Dallas Center, Iowa; Troy Plummer from Des Moines, Iowa: and Jon Reneslacis from Kitzijiiller, Md. Basketball all-academic members were: David Simons from Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Eric Shelton from Durham, N.C.; and Barry Johnson from Lansine Mich. V Kristi Kluegal was named Conference Player of the Year. Along with Kristin Mosher, Kluegal was also honored as All- Conference performers. I rr Wendell Staton. Dave Auman and Eric Eubank are out front in meet against Pfeiffer. Eric Eubank was named All-District last weekend for his 5th place finish in the District Championship. 1st Annual Bowling Toumament Joy Camp The first annual St. Andrews Bowling Toumament was successful. Randy andthe Turkeys two game totals outscored the Brooklyn Sides by 34 points. Randy and the Turkeys received five T- shirts from Schilling’s Auto Brokers, and five pizzas courtesy of Nic’s Pizza & Chicken, for their first place finish. The Brooklyn Sides were also generously rewarded with five of Nic’s pizzas. Other honors from the toumament include: Highest 2-game score: Jock Wheeler 2nd Highest 2-game score: George Gurley Highest Female 2-game score: Janet Schilling Most Improved Male: Mike Gerlach Most Improved Female: Joy Camp Director of the Toumament, Joy Camp commented upon the tournaments success. “ The toumament was real success. It was nice to see the faculty/staff members and the students involved in an activity together. They really enjoyed it too. We had a great time. Hopefully, we’ll have another toumament soon.”
