The Chowan Fine Arts Foundation presents the "The Music Show Capital" BRANSON TOUR ’95 Nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in southern Missouri, Bran son has become the live entertainment "Music Show Capital." While Branson was originally "country and western" shows, the now more than 35 theaters provide a variety of entertainment including pop, country, and even a touch of classical and Broadway. Music Shows Most theaters do two shows per day, a matinee and evening perfor mance, six days a week. Many theaters now have morning shows avail able. Shows average two hours in length. Visitors agree it is extremely difficult to choose a "favorite" show because they are all so different. Recreation and Activities Branson's appeal is not limited to stage shows and bright lights. Its three lakes. Table Rock, Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals offer more than 800 miles of shore line with plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming, and sailing. Theme parks like Silver Dollar City and the Mutton Hollow Craft and Entertainment Village offer Ozark craftsmen, music programs, and amusement park attractions. History buffs can check out the Civil War Museum. And Ripley's Believe It Or Not is filled with oddities. Ride the Branson Scenic Railway 40 miles through the valleys and high trestles of the Ozarks. From pirate cruises to the fascinating Boxcar Willie Museum, there is plenty to experience in Branson. Shopping From flea markets to elegant shops and everything in between, Bran son is full of shopping experiences. Don't leave Branson without a local craft item you watched being made just for you representing the history of the Ozarks.
