Sadie Mae Whitley of Como (right), executrix of the Ruth M. Thomas estate, recently presented President
Stan Lott a check for $108,000. Thomas, who resided in the Bethlehem community of Hertford County, was
a longtime supporter of the college. In 1966, Thomas, along with her brother, W. A., and sister, fi^ary, pro
vided a substantial gift toward naming the college cafeteria in memory of their parents, Dr R. P. Thomas
and Mary Green Mitchell Thomas. The recent estate gift will be used for computer technology training as
part of Ctjowan’s faculty and staff enrichment program.
