0€€^ Service awards presented at President’s Banquet Twent\ -five members of the Chowan College facuitj' and staff were recognized at the annual President's Banquet in August for completing various lengths of serv ice to the institution. Tluee members. Mrs. Bertha L. Brown. Dr. Garth D. Faile and Dr. John W. Gosnell. were inducted into the prestigious "Order of Lux et Veritas and honored for completing a quarter century of service. The banquet, which oflficially marked the beginning of the 1996-97 academic session, was held in Thomas Cafeteria with Dr. B. Franklin Lowe, vice president for academic affairs, presiding. Dr. Stanley G. Lott, who is beginning his first academic session as president of the institution, was the featured speaker for the evening. He was introduced by Mr. Robert B. Spivey of Windsor, chairman of the Board of Trustees. The service awards were presented by Dr. Lott and Mr Spivey, with the assistance of Dr Lowe. The Lux et Veritas induction ceremonies were conducted by the inductees' respective supervisor Mrs. Bertha Brown was inducted by Mr. Richard Lefevre. interim vice president for business affairs; Dr Faile was inducted by Dr. B. Brown has been employed in the business office for the past twenty-five years, and Dr Garth D. Faile continues to serve as chairman of the department of science. Dr Calvin I.
